
Besides the retro trend, another editorial trend stood out for 2010 and that was fashion editors’ love for nomadic fashion. Showcasing luxe furs. heavy knits and colorful accessories, magazines such as Vogue Germany, Flair and Harper’s Bazaar Russia all took us on a nomadic journey. Some traditional and some more modern, FGR rounded up twelve nomadic looks for our latest Year in Review.

Coco Rocha stars in one of three editorials for the January edition of Elle Italia entitled, Indie Coco. Shot in Williamsburg, Brooklyn by Michael Sanders, Coco wears an array of casual ensembles styled by Alberto Zanoletti in the energetic shoot.

Ginta Lapina returns for her second consecutive season as the face of Sportmax by Max Mara. In front of a crisp white background, Ginta dons the label’s colorful yet playful ensembles with cool patterns and youthful shapes.

Fashion meets shape-shifting in Jeff Tse’s Black Swan, where Gwen Lu sports elegant pieces and a avian-like coif created by hair stylist Menelaos Alevras. Styled by Isa White and with makeup by Regina Harris, Gwen wows in the black and white series.

Snejana Onopka works with Andreas Öhlund for the January shoot of Cover Magazine featuring loads and loads of denim. With the aide of fashion editor Emelie Johansson, Öhlund captures a story of haunting beauty with Snejana donning an array of casual yet captivating looks from the likes of Chloe, Levi’s and Tommy Hilfiger in Back to Basics.

Photographer Ayten Alpun has a flair for the dramatic with her latest work in the January issue of Marie Claire Turkey. Starring Kira Mazura styled by Hakan Öztürk, the enchanting story features elegant gowns and dresses in an abandoned setting juxtaposing the new with the old.
