The Emilio Pucci woman as envisioned by designer Peter Dundas is rock and roll, sexy and elegant–all descriptive words which can be applied to the label’s fall 2011 presentation. Embracing bold prints and baroque embellishments on form-fitting bodices and dresses, ladies take note, these designs are not made for the wallflower but for a woman who wants to be seen.

Roberto Cavalli referenced past collections for his fall 2011 outing consisting of wild prints and even wilder styling with models sporting slick locks and smudged eyes. Armed with layers of fur, tribal accents and metallic “armor”, the Cavalli woman transformed into an Amazonian warrior for the autumn season.

It looks like a dark fall 2011 for Sportmax’s latest outing shown on Saturday during Milan Fashion Week where models took to the catwalk in a strong showing of black and modern shapes fit for the contemporary woman. Luxurious furs, wools, and thick belts took center stage with feminine undertones found in the form of floral patterns and sheer materials for the new season.

Minimalist gone maximalist can be the description used for Jil Sander’s fall 2011 collection which followed in the vein of spring’s couture shapes and bold hues. Fall seemed a bit more sporty, however, with sweater knits and more sleek silhouettes inspired by Diane Arbus and 1950s ski-wear. Models walked down the catwalk with slicked back hair, red lips and blue eyeshadow for a showing of understated elegance.
