Ferrè’s Pared Down Spring – In a season of many prints and colors, the Gianfranco Ferrè spring 2012 collection is quite refreshing with its monotone dresses and minimal accessories. The Italian label offered up sleek silhouettes that were loose-fitting yet featured feminine curves. Most of the thirty-plus looks were cinched at the waist and showcased impeccable tailoring in hues of ivory, nude and spring brights.

Cavalli’s Full-on Glamour – Roberto Cavalli delivered a collection of femininity and toughness for his spring 2012 collection presented in Milan earlier today. Using a dark color palette paired with pastel prints, the Cavalli woman sports intricate detailing with sequin embroidered blazers and dresses for the new season. The showing also included seductive floor length gowns printed with wild animal prints, uneven stripes and sheer lace. Beauty for the catwalk included a messy up-do and smoky eye for a dramatic effect.

DSquared2′s Dirty Denim – Always a label to stick to themes for the runway, DSquared2 designers Dean and Dan Caten paid homage to music festivals with their spring 2012 collection presented on the final day of Milan Fashion Week. With their trademark denim, the DSquared2 duo had all the signatures of a music festival complete with mud, fringe, floppy hats and even beer bottles. With shades of Woodstock and beach culture, models walked down the catwalk in bold hues and colorful accessories including flag prints.

Armani’s Light Spring – Giorgio Armani once again brought Milan Fashion Week to a close with his elegant draping and tailoring on full display for spring 2012. The Armani woman was swathed in pearly fabrics of lightweight silk and satin with abstract prints for the new season. Silhouettes were loose-fitting, accentuating the feminine form with dramatic folds and pleats which were also decorated with sequins for a nighttime glamour look.
