Outfitted by Naomi Miller, the Canadian beauty sports Nike shoes and casual pieces from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Hakaan and Theyskens’ Theory. The result is a sultry story of languishing and streetwear.

I never exactly understand what people mean by a nude body being “unnecessary.” This does not look to me like something done in an awkward (though awkwardness can also be considered beautiful sometimes), lewd, raunchy or exploitative way and really looks more like a study of Anais’ beauty- the beauty of her body, her face and the way she moves. And she is indeed very, very beautiful. Oh, and Lachlan is great with this sort of scenario anyways, he handles his subjects brilliantly.

I hardly even find it that sexual in its nature, being naked does not always have to have sexual implications. And models do a lot of things in editorials that no one would ever actually do in real life, fashion is a fantasy.

she’s so beautiful and fresh.
i like this debate about nakedness being unnecessary… i think there are editorials that are about photography, rather than the clothes and there are others that are mostly about fashion and outfits, and of course there are the ones that are about both… to me this one falls into the first category where it just doesn’t matter if she’s naked or not… it’s about how light falls on a surface, it’s about forms and colors, expressions and moods, etc…
no. 7 and 9 are my faves.

Totally agree with you Agnes. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and in the end beauty is in the eye of the beholder… However, this story feels less about clothes and fashion and more about a mood. The imagery is simple yet poignant and the natural beauty of Anais really shines through. Love Lachlan because he goes from more stylized, fashion-y images to these totally undone, raw stories quite seamlessly. Not many image makers can get away with that.
