Dakota Fanning on Saying No to Certain Roles
In her interview, Dakota talks about what roles she would not take. âBeing empowered to say no is pretty cool. Even when I was little, any of my friends or family would say, âDakota doesnât do anything she doesnât want to.â And I donât. Iâm very sensitive to energy and vibes, and if a vibe is off somewhere, then Iâm out. Iâll just go. If itâs not working for me? Just no.â
She also says, âDonât do a role that isnât complicated enough for you. Itâs ok to say no to parts if it doesnât serve you, or the story. Or the [gratuitous] sex scene? It could be a great project, but you donât need that. Sometimes itâs hard to stick to but, ultimately, it pays off.â
