Dakota Fanning on Saying No to Certain Roles
In her interview, Dakota talks about what roles she would not take. āBeing empowered to say no is pretty cool. Even when I was little, any of my friends or family would say, āDakota doesnāt do anything she doesnāt want to.ā And I donāt. Iām very sensitive to energy and vibes, and if a vibe is off somewhere, then Iām out. Iāll just go. If itās not working for me? Just no.ā
She also says, āDonāt do a role that isnāt complicated enough for you. Itās ok to say no to parts if it doesnāt serve you, or the story. Or the [gratuitous] sex scene? It could be a great project, but you donāt need that. Sometimes itās hard to stick to but, ultimately, it pays off.ā
