For spring 2017, Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele continued with a tradition of drama-filled, embroidered pieces. The androgynous pant suits, trimmed cardigans and puffed sleeves that have come synonymous with Gucci were on full display during Day 1 of Milan Fashion Week. New to the season are piles of sequins and poetic statements. The word ‘Love’ is featured on quite a few pieces—from pants to sweater backs and crystal handpieces. Michele also worked with illustrator Jayde Fish to create some of the unique embroideries.
