The spring outing from Givenchy was dark–not that it comes as any surprise with Riccardo Tisci’s well known gothic aesthetic. After an early preview, we finally have a full look at the fall advertisements from Givenchy. Starring an all star group of models including Mariacarla Boscono, Catherine McNeil, Malgosia Bela and Joan Smalls, the campaign is complemented by its strong color palette, bold casting and a focus on the label’s sleek clothing. Photographed by Mert & Marcus, it is by far one of the most memorable campaigns of the season with its fusion of womenswear and menswear.

Givenchy’s fall haute couture collection garnered a more intimate gathering this season with a special presentation consisting of ten looks with ten models. Riccardo Tisci, the label’s creative director, said of the change, “I want to make couture even more special than it is, and not just another catwalk show.” Gone are the black ensembles and dramatic makeup which are replaced with neutral shades and ornate details of lace and fringe. Topping off the look are sleek silhouettes and tailored jackets.

Photographed by Mert & Marcus once more, Givenchy is the first major fashion house to reveal their upcoming fall 2010 campaign. Creating a world where Riccardo Tisci’s menswear and womenswear can co-exist, the season features a special campaign moment with the debut of the designer’s former fit model, Lea T., who happens to be a transsexual. Appearing alongside Mariacarla Boscono, Malgosia Bela, Catherine McNeil, Simon Nessman, Jonathan Marquez and Paolo Rolden, Lea rounds out a wonderfully diverse cast that is sure to be remembered for quite the inspiring campaign.
