Owens’ Fiery Fall – Taking a dark turn from spring’s parade of white, designer Rick Owens was back to black and grey for his fall 2012 collection presented during Paris Fashion Week. All the usual trappings of Owens’ creations were out in full form–the long silhouettes, leather works and futuristic undertones appeared against a setting of fire. Models took to the runway wearing stark red lips and mesh masks in the post-apocalyptic designs. For the finale, Owens offered some prints in the form of checkered plaid matched with slouchy trousers layered under skirts.

Rick Owens’ Ethereal Spring – Rick Owens’ embraced the color white for his spring 2012 collection presented during Paris Fashion Week. Known for his long, futuristic silhouettes, Owens delivered androgynous looks to the max with floor length skirts and lightweight outerwear. Beauty for the show included a regal up-do paired with crimson lips.

You can call Rick Owens’ protagonist for the fall 2011 season a cape wonder with all the hooded and caped ensembles shown during his Paris Fashion Week presentation. Layering up for the fall, Owens sent models down the runway in a minimal color palette complete with fur, wool, leather and cashmere. As the show progressed, the more softer looks gave way to sleek jackets with “winged” sleeves for a futuristic effect.

Entering the new season with an other worldly influence, the spring 2011 collection from Rick Owens is not for the faint of heart with models parading down the runway looking like an extraterrestrial army. With floor length gowns and draping silhouettes of leather and stark white, Owens brings a sense of dark fantasy to Paris Fashion Week.
