Natural Stella – Malgosia Bela stars in a new campaign for Stella McCartney’s second major fragrance titled, “L.I.L.Y”. The name is an acronym for “Linda I Love You”, a nickname her father Paul gave to his wife–Linda. Malgosia appears all natural in the image with tousled locks and barely there makeup. The fragrance will hit stores March of next year. (WWD)
Stella McCartney’s Understated Luxe – For spring 2012, Stella McCartney presented yet another collection of minimal luxe with a combination of feminine dresses and androgynous suiting. After last season’s polka dot fest, the British designer still had prints on the brain with a mix and match of paisley, dots and waves. Loose-fitting silk tops, trousers and slip dresses brought a sense of ease to the Parisian catwalk.

Stella McCartney’s fall 2011 outing embraced minimal luxury. With experimentation found in shapes and proportion, models took the runway with puffed up sleeves, dot motifs and abstract patterns. The highlight of the show included a finale of form-fitting black dresses with asymmetrical cut-outs for a story of contrast as the voluminous shapes were followed by tight silhouettes.
Stella McCartney is always known for putting playful elements in its advertising campaigns and the spring 2011 season is no exception. For the new season, McCartney enlists Joan Smalls and Malgosia Bela to go nude underneath custom cut-outs lensed by Mert & Marcus. (TFS)
