Black on Black – Gareth Pugh delivered his signature gothic style for his namesake label’s fall 2012 collection presented during Paris Fashion Week. Pugh ditched last season’s bondage inspired shapes for more tribal designs complete with fringe dresses, leather outerwear and fur embellishments. High necklines, some of which that even cover the face, were matched with thin headbands, clunky boots and winged shoulders in all black and grey for the new season. Whether donning zipped up capes or shaggy coats, the Pugh woman knows how to bundle up for the upcoming winter.

Gianfranco Ferré’s Streamlined Fall – Designers Stefano Citron and Federico Piaggi presented their second collection for Gianfranco Ferré with the label’s fall 2012 showing presented on the final day of Milan Fashion Week. The two embraced an androgynous aesthetic and used a color palette of inky black, silvery grey, navy and off white. Forgoing patterns or jewelry, the new season was all about shape with streamlined silhouettes that were modern if not futuristic. Ferré’s androgynous heroine also got a touch of glam with the use of lush fur and metallic fabrics for the upcoming autumn.

Moschino’s Cheeky Fall – Known for collections with kitschy themes, Moschino presented a collection of military inspired jackets for its fall 2012 presented shown during the third day of Milan Fashion Week. Using a joyous color palette of scarlet red, canary yellow, electric blue and flirty pink; creative director Rossella Jardini played with proportions and color for the new season. Models hit the runway in stetson hats, checkered patterns and bold gold accents. The cheeky showing culminated in ruffle-adorned, princess pink dress worn by model Cara Delevingne.
