  1. ^this isnt bad at all, remember its a lookbook not a campaign.Personally i think the departure from the usual studio photos is quite refreshing.

Btw that close up of her in the red sweater is just divine,a true testimony to Isabeli’s beauty

    • Agreed. Much better then the usual deadpan face endless white seamless most lookbooks are. I like the luggage, are they selling that too?

  3. It’s a testament to Isabeli’s beauty (and good styling)… cuz some of these outfits are really bad, but they look reallllly good on her.

  4. I think T-Bone’s lost his mojo (Isabeli hasn’t lost hers though). I think it has almost a retro, JC Penny’s type catalog feel to it, but I’m not sure about that.

  6. Everybody wants to bash TR when he shoots his normal studio stuff or the sleazy stuff. But when he shoots something completely different, like this, everybody still hates it. I personally think this is a refreshing detour from his normal work and wouldn’t mind seeing more like this in the future.

    • Completely agree. Was sick and tired of seeing T-bone’s dated ero-crap. And this is pretty pro’s work for a lookbook.
The JC penny catalog ref. is super accurate but is also exactly why this looks like fun. Smart move.
The close-up is definitely a testament to Isabeli’s beauty, as basementcat said earlier. Wow.

  10. i have to say, i am not a fan of any of the outfits, styling (not that the stylist had much to work with), theme or photography. a shame, really.
@matt hannon, just because it’s different, doesn’t mean it’s good. everything should be judged on their own. this just doesn’t measure up.

  12. I feel as though anyone could have taken these pictures. I thought that BEFORE I saw that it was Terry Richardson. Isabeli and the location are nice but I feel as though it’s nothing special, just a pretty girl at an airport.

  19. Imagine being Terry and trying to convince the client that these are amazing shots. Does he understand that there millions of photogs that could have done this? He should stick to his on-camera flash look and being ultra sexy. It’s what he’s known for and obviously when he tries to change it up, it doesn’t work and he’s belittling his brand.

    • To be honest, I suspect he didn’t think anyone would know he shot it. Before this site, we almost never knew who shot the lookbooks, even for big brands. It’s not art- that’s for sure. I mean, look books are SUPPOSED to be searingly simple. Indeed if you get too artistic or interesting the clients generally get upset. They don’t want anything that distracts from a straight on display of the clothes. Remember very rarely do normal people look much at look-books. It’s either for buyers or shoved into your shopping bag after a purchase. That said, I’m only particularly bothered by the sunglasses shot where you can see the whole team standing around in the lenses. They could have at least gotten out of the way for that one.

  22. Wow, people, this is a commercial catalogue-style shoot, not a Vogue Paris editorial. It’s styled like affordable clothes someone might wear in real life, so people might actually want to, you know, buy them — not just get class anxiety longing looking at the photos. Given that it’s pervy Uncle Terry, I’m only upset I don’t find it utterly loathsome.

On another topic, I always think Isabeli Fontana looks like a 3rd Rayder sister.

  23. From a consumer perspective, I normally get bored with Mango Lookbooks and campaigns. They always tend to look to unreal and prefabricated and the stylings are nothing but wearable. This one though, looks more natural and fresh and the outfits are really good. I even can tell that the shoot with Isabeli dropping the coffee was no plan at all 🙂

  24. Always tempting to blame the photographer.
When I work for clients for money they very often control a lot of things !
A lot goes on behind the scene.
We only see here the result

The difference is they didn’t do it
