Gaultier’s Ode to Amy – Walking to his own beat, Jean Paul Gaultier did not present an array of gowns for his spring 2012 haute couture show, but instead offered an ode to late singer Amy Winehouse with a collection of tailored jackets, form-fitting skirts and bustiers. Models wore Winehouse’s signature beehive and had cigarettes in hand as they strutted down the runway with the singer’s tunes playing in the background. The color palette was a somber black with splashes of citrus and lime to reveal lacy undergarments, silk dresses and belted waists.
La Dolce Vita – Michelle Buswell plays the dual role of masculine and feminine in the fall-winter collection from Dolce & Gabbana in Simon Lekias’ energetic images for the November issue of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore. Hair by Shintaro Teraoka is naturally tousled while make-up artist Roberto Morelli gives Michelle a sultry smokey eyed look.
Just a Girl - For this charming series of eleven models’ portraits, photographer Randall Slavin highlights a more natural, intimate side of his subjects for the premier issue of LoveCat Magazine. Wearing a casual mix of destroyed tanks and undone shorts, the girls have a natural but polished look courtesy of hair stylist Benjamin Thigpen and makeup artist Christy Falco.
