    also another un-necessary promotion of cigarettes in an editorial meant to be about clothes.
    do cigarettes make the clothes look prettier?

      Good comment, this cigarette business is bad all round. It sends out the message that smoking will make a girl attractive. Well, it may have been the thing half a century or more ago but it's a real turn-off now. I think the current trend is for the photographer who gets stuck for a posing idea, is to "Give the girl a fag" and all his failings will go undetected.

        Lesco, you're absolutely right. I've been on shoots where models will ask if they can smoke during the shoot. Most photographers give in because they don't want to seem like a hard ass, and because you have ten people standing around who just want to finish the job. If giving the model a cigarette will get the shot then do it! We all know models smoke to stay thin, so when these pictures end up in magazines we end up perpetuating the problem's of insecure teenage models.
