Simply Divine at Givenchy – After last season’s parade of prints, Riccardo Tisci presented a toned down spring 2012 collection that may have been light on prints but still had all the trappings of Givenchy opulence. Dramatic ruffles, form-fitting silhouettes and tailored jackets defined the Givenchy woman for the new season. A bit of flash was added to the showing with sequin embroidered pieces that brought the perfect finish to a strong collection.

Kenzo’s Streetwear Spring – New designers at Kenzo, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, took a more youthful, streetwear orientated approach for the label’s spring 2012 collection. While keeping the label’s Parisian flair, the volume on the collection was certainly dialed down for the new season with a muted color palette and less audacious silhouettes. Nevertheless, models still displayed a romantic selection of dresses that paid tribute to the feminine form in full.

Hermès’ Spring Cover-up – For spring 2012, Hermès designer Christophe Lemaire provided cover-up for the hotter months with loose-fitting silhouettes, lightweight separates and arm-baring tops. A definite change from Jean Paul Gaultier’s vision for the luxury brand, Lemaire dressed the Hermès woman in billowing gowns and drapey pants. Color came in the form of electric blue, deep mauve and citrus orange.

A Touch of Volume at Celine – Celine designer Phoebe Philo presented another stunning collection for the label’s spring 2012 showing during Paris Fashion Week. The label’s minimal touch was amped up with voluminous skirts and jackets featuring ruffles and pleats. Hints of red, green and burgundy brought some color to a strict palette of black and white.
