I Love Brasil – The May issue of Vogue Spain celebrates all things Brazil with James Macari’s water themed shoot showcasing hot spring fashions alongside notable Brazilian sites. Starring Solange Wilvert styled by Marina Gallo in languid looks from the likes of D&G, Roberto Cavalli and Stella McCartney–Macari goes from the beaches of Rio de Janeiro to the busy city streets for the outstanding images.

I don’t think the photos adapt well to the culture. The random “proof that we’re in Rio” shots don’t do this justice. James does generally have fantastic work though and it’s rare not to completely love what he puts out.

Not sure about the adapting to culture part of your comment but I do agree about the token shots of Rio. Unless they’re trying to do some kind of travel fashion story.

hmm – some of the pics are good, but eg in the black and white closeup, the shadows make the model’s face look deformed.. And she does occasionally look like she’s trying a bit too hard. Not a big fan.
