Producer Greg Berlanti stars alongside the stars of ‘Supergirl’ (Melissa Benoist) and ‘The Flash’ (Grant Gustin) for Variety Magazine’s latest cover story. The power producer is becoming the go to guy for superhero shows.
Berlanti calls Melissa the ‘Annie Hall’ of superheroes and also says she was a perfect fit for the show. “The most important decision you can make as a showrunner when you’re doing a pilot is who’s in it, and who’s directing it,” he says. “If we had not found her, I would have said, ‘I don’t want to make this.’”
