McQ’s Military Chic – For fall 2012, Alexander McQueen’s offshoot line McQ looked towards British tradition and military inspired fashion with a collection of strict silhouettes featuring a gothic undertone. Model Meghan Collison dons the autumn designs in a color palette of army green, cream, black and oxblood. From cinched waists to bell-shaped skirts, the season toes the line between masculinity and femininity. Tops offer delicate lace and splashes of color with kaleidoscopic prints. Footwear is equestrian inspired matched with chain detailing. Accessories include bridle harness-inspired bags, tartan totes and leather bags. The new season focuses on structure and shape with origami like folds and feminine ruffles dominating the sleek silhouettes. Never Too Much – Italian designer Gaetano Navarra embraces a 90s energy for his fall 2012 collection featuring a vibrant color palette of fuchsia, sapphire blue, lavender and rich metallic materials. The look book images bring the already character-filled creations to life with the structural shapes, fur-trimmed coats and spiky studs all worn by a smiling model. Transforming Fall – Australian label Scanlan and Theodore dabbles in a mix of day and evening wear for its fall 2012 collection. Wearable Vision – Hien Le’s fall 2012 collection focuses on craftsmanship and textiles for the Berlin based designer’s fourth outing. Light layering of cotton, silk and alcantara show a minimal vision of the upcoming autumn with a hint of sportswear influence. A muted color palette of green mint, citrus orange and powder blue stray from traditional fall hues, and instead inspires seasonless dressing paired with lightweight knits.
