The CK Jeans campaign started a stir at the beginning of the season with it’s risqué commercial. I guess the old adage still remains: sex (and controversy) sells.

Steven Meisel’s main edit for Vogue Italia’s March 2009 issue appears to have a grand intent. Whether that message was expressed best through the medium of photography, is up for discussion.

Prada’s spring campaign is one of my favorites this season. I like Meisel’s innovative take on the group shot. In addition to the highly reported bas-relief influence, I can also see a group of young women waiting in line for an object so desirable that we cannot even fathom.

I’m so happy to see Islein Steiro again. She’s coming back strong in this season’s Lanvin campaign by Steven Meisel.

Vogue US is surprising me with their February 2009 issue. First, Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively is on the cover and now this. I am see some new faces in their fashion spreads, which I guess is a good sign. There’s only so many shoots I can take of the same models against boring and blank backgrounds. It appears as if American Vogue is trying to revamp it’s image. Although to be honest, I am a little bit tired of the throwback to 1930s fashion. It’s pretty, but can get dull after awhile.
