Like it or not, fashion and nudity go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly or a photographer and their camera. For 2010, risquéness hit a whole new level with nuns, bondage and even a lesbian wedding hitting the editorial scene. From subtle beauty to in-your-face boldness, fashion had a pretty risqué year!

GET THEE TO A NUNNERY: Ashley Smith played a nun gone bad in Greg Gex’s sultry shoot for Dedicate Magazine.

NATURAL BEAUTY: Although it was not the most risque of shoots, Blaise Reutersward delivered stunning beauty with Marloes Horst for Vogue China

ARTISTIC LICENSE: Eniko Mihalik is no stranger to taking it off for editorials, but Derek Kettela’s enchanting photos for 25 Magazine were eye-catching

THE BEAUTY SITTING: 10 Magazine paid homage to Guinevere van Seenus for its fall issue which featured Guinevere in several editorials, but none were more eye-catching than Mario Sorrenti’s bold shoot

Also a year for the mainstream re-establishment of big bosoms – not the least Daria (who becomes more buxom with age), Eniko whose breasts and waist seem to have increased several sizes in the course of the year and of course Ashley and Edita and hardly least, Lara who is by any measure a big girl.
Even talking about it makes me miss Anna S, Erin W, Freja and Hanne.

I love women who look like women. Curvy is not a stereotype for women because MOST women are, we just have different shapes to display this curvaceousness. Down with girls who look like boys; it’s just an excuse for designers who don’t know how to fit and dress shapes so they use flat models for everything. The appeal of seeing Freja naked is the same as when I see an emaciated child with its protruding rib cage and bloated gas belly.

You know even women with very small breasts technically have curves, right? Just because a woman has (naturally) small breasts it does not make her any less of a woman and I hate that whenever someone is trying to encourage normal sized women in the media they say that they’re “real” women, well guess what? I’m a real woman as well even though I’m pretty much a stick. Femininity is not so easily defined by what we see on the outside.

Exactly. The whole ‘real woman’ brigade are just a bunch of idiots that are too stupid to understand that demographics have a distribution – from short to tall, fat to skinny, curvy to flat, soft features to hard feature.

Anyone that argues someone isn’t ‘real’ because she is skinny or tall is an idiot.

I never used the world ‘real’ in my comment at all so i’ll assume your comment about who’s an idiot is about someone else. Otherwise, check yourself. Of course, women have curves and I said it all depends on shape. But if you’re going to tell me these skinny models in fashion have curves you’re only lying to yourself as very few do. Most of them are flat and look like boys before puberty. Nothing’s wrong if you like that look but I’ve had enough of boys and think it’s all an excuse for designers who don’t know how to tailor clothes for abundant shapes of the human body. And I also think curves make everything look better but that is my opinion.

couldn’t agree more. and furthermore I can’t believe comments like that come from people who are interested in fashion…(not talking about people in media, but the ones who like to come to fashion websites just to shoot their spiel) There are many types of beauty and not one person pleases everyone.

Some missing editorials: Raquel’s Purple ed, Abbey Lee was nude in a lot of eds… I-d springs to mind as the most daring, Iris by Peter Lindbergh, and a lot more i can’t remember right now. Hope this helps
