10 Crosby Fall–For his 10 Crosby fall-winter 2014 collection, Derek Lam looked to artwork of the 50s and 70s for inspiration. Namely artisanal German pottery called Lava Pottery. The work is noted for its volcanic look and sleek lines as well as abstract decorations. Lam took this influence and gave an arty finish to the upcoming fall by reinterpreting a smock as a crop top or reinventing the classic black pant with patchwork pockets. The color palette also has an eclectic vibe with a variety of shades including dijon, indigo and aubergine sometimes in an ombre effect.
