Thylane Blondeau on Jalouse–At thirteen years old, French model Thylane Blondeau has already appeared in Vogue Paris twice which caused quite a bit of controversy three years ago. Now, the fresh faced beauty stars on the April 2014 cover from Jalouse where the publication proclaims her the next Kate Moss in one of its headlines. Some websites seem to be kicking up dust about a thirteen year old being on the cover of a women’s fashion magazine. What do you think? Age appropriate or crossing a line?
I just hope she doesn’t end up in the hands of ‘fashion’ favourite photographer, Terry Richardson. She has an incredible beauty and part of it is her innocence. As for calling her next Kate Moss- it’s way too early to say that. But this cover for sure will stir fashion industry and fashion lovers all over the world sparking a discussion and giving Thylene her 5 minuts of fame.
All this is nothing new and I personally think the shoot is beautiful.
She is undoubtedly a beautiful girl but she is exactly that. A girl. Her parents are fully aware of all that they are doing to propel her into the limelight and, right or wrong, it seems to be working.
She will go far with parents as pimps and a society that obviously condones it. Just look how far Kim Kardashian has come, with her millions and recent Vogue cover…

She’s a beautiful girl but nothing to aspire to. Personally I don’t think any 13 year old girl, however gorgeous, is anything for adult women to aspire to. She is not a role model, she looks like she’s playing dress up in adult couture and at the ripe old age of 13 she ought to be in high school instead of working. I’m sure others will feel differently, but I think 13 is just too young to be a professional model or a professional anything, for that matter.
Definitely crossing a line. But at least, here she’s not heavily made up and clad overly sexy.

If I only had a nickel for every “new Kate Moss”… my money bin would be way bigger than Scrooge McDuck’s one….
