The sporty trend was already embraced during New York Fashion Week, but in Milan, designers focused on adding athletic touches to already feminine looks. Case in point, Prada’s spring 2014 collection which presented many dresses but added sporty details like leg warmers and ribbed knitwear.


Feminine SportMarni rejected minimalism for spring and instead focused on the play between embellishment and femininity. Athletic touches like visors, technical ribbons and platform sandals added a unique twist.


Feminine SportGucci creative director Frida Giannini made athletic staples like mesh, basketball shorts and track suits luxe with patterns inspired by Art Nouveau artist Erté for spring.


Feminine SportEmilio Pucci’s Peter Dundas infused sporty basics like basketball shorts, hooded jackets and surfer inspired wear with sparkling details and feminine shapes cinched at the waist.
