Did you know that by applying perfume to your body’s pulse points to warm the perfume, it will continuously release its fragrance?

People who want to smell good often make the mistake of thinking that all they need to do is buy a bottle of expensive perfume and apply it to their bodies. What they don’t realize is that there is a right and wrong way to apply perfume.

We’ve written a guide that explains how to apply perfume properly. Keep reading to find out more.

Find the Best Perfume

You’ll first need to find the perfect perfume. Don’t buy a designer perfume just because you know that your favorite celebrity wears it. Make sure that you enjoy the perfume’s scent.

Look for perfumes that have the right top notes and bottom notes. The notes are what you notice right away when you smell a certain scent. The bottom notes tend to be wood and have natural smells.

If you are not able to go to a perfume store to test out perfumes, you should visit a top-rated online fragrance shop such as Perfume Price. This is a great place to buy perfume.

Take a Shower

Your skin will do a better job of absorbing perfume if you take a shower or a bath. You’ll just need to make sure that you take a hot shower so that your pores will open.

Apply body wash or soap if you have unscented varieties. It is not a good idea to apply a scented body wash because its scent will clash with the perfume’s scent.

If you’d like to apply perfume to your hair, be sure to wash it.

Dry Your Skin

Perfume does not stick to skin that is wet. Therefore, make sure that your body is completely dry before you apply your perfume. You’ll want to pay special attention to drying your neck, back of your knees, and hair.

These are what people call “pulse points.” These warmer parts of the body are the best places to apply perfume.

Moisturize Your Skin

Your perfume will do a better job of soaking into your skin if you apply moisturizer before you apply it. Consider applying lotion, body oil, or petroleum jelly.

Applying Perfume: Know the Right Distance

Hold the bottle of perfume about six inches away from your body. Point the nozzle towards your body.

You should make sure that the bottle is far enough from your body to prevent your skin from getting wet when you spray it.

If you have been wondering how to apply perfume properly, keep in mind that it requires trial and error to find a method that will work best for you. Make sure that your skin is dry before you apply perfume.
