Zimmermann’s resort 2025 collection is a vibrant homage to the eclectic fashion of the 1980s, merging nostalgic elements with modern silhouettes. The collection draws inspiration from beloved 80s films such as Pretty in Pink and style icons like Winona Ryder and Lisa Bonet, evoking a playful yet chic spirit.
Creative director Nicky Zimmermann shares in the press release, “There’s lots of little icons inspired by the films that run through our details – diary extracts, cassette tapes, records and lipstick that come through in key artwork and in charms.”
The runway showcases a delightful array of polka dots, leopard prints, and soft florals, each piece combining luxe fabrications and cinematic memories. The opening look of a voluminous white lace dress paired with a bold black belt exemplifies the era’s drama, juxtaposed with chunky lace sneakers.
The look of the leopard print dress is a nod to the wild side of the decade’s glamour, channeling the rebellious spirit of teenage fashion. A fitted bodice and full skirt create a fierce and feminine silhouette, complemented by a statement necklace and a netted veil.
In a softer turn, a periwinkle two-piece set with a high-low hemline evokes the whimsical romance of Pretty in Pink. The delicate layers and pastel hue bring a dreamy quality to the collection, perfect for a modern-day Andie Walsh.
A cozy, embellished cardigan draped casually over the shoulders adds a touch of laid-back elegance, while the pointy-toe heels ground the look in sophistication.
