With labels previewing their resort 2014 collections, we thought it would only by appropriate to do a roundup of four hot trends which have caught our attention this season. Look below for the full list and tell us which trend you like the best.
Bold Pastels
Pastels for the resort season are nothing new, but this season, designers are bringing a bold take to the classic hues with color-blocking, graduated patterns and eye-catching prints. From Sonia Rykiel’s sherbet colored knits to Anna Sui’s sweet and flirty bohemian styles; pastel shades are proving to be a standout.
Athletic Cool
This resort season, designers looked at sport-inspired gear ranging from scuba diving to sweatshirts as inspiration. Herve Leger by Max Azria embraced an aquatic vibe for its collection, transforming its iconic bandage dress into scuba-chic wear. 10 Crosby by Derek Lam gave a new take on the sweatshirt and sweatpants with monochromatic prints and Opening Ceremony brought a biker cool to the season.
Black and White Florals
Florals are always a pre-spring staple, and this season is no exception. But labels like BCBG Max Azria and Peter Pilotto mixed it up this season with graphic, black and white floral prints. Chloe even gave the print a 3D effect with a textured skirt. This unlikely trend is one of our favorites of the season.
Gold Takeover
From Lanvin to Gucci, labels went for the gold with looks dipped in metallic. This trend can go from day to night with relaxed suiting and elegant dresses. Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz brought his own unique take on the trend with an off the shoulder dress while Acne Studios and Gucci offered pantsuits in the metallic hue.
amaze, love the metallic pieces
