Continuing with their celebration of all things blonde, POP’s fall edition taps one of the most famous blondes in music to be their latest cover star. Inspired by anime, Spears is a mix of Lolita and bride in the fantastical images shot by Todd Cole. Through the combined efforts of Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, fashion editor Vanessa Reid and set designer Peter Klein, Spears transforms from pop star to fashion fantasy in the hyper realistic shoot.

It’s critiquing culture -it’s not ‘beautiful’, it’s exposing and very interesting. Whether that was their intention I don’t know – but it is called ‘POP’.

I absolutely love Britney Spears and I think she looks amazing in this shoot, it´s so conceptual and girlie and it brings back all that manga theme to it, she couldnt have looked better!! Congrats to POP for having such an iconic star on their cover! xoxo

Yipp, This photographer has just confirmed that a camera can be a very dangerous weapon in the hands of some one that does not know how to use it. And britney should just stick to being photographed by the paparazzi, because they do a better job at making her look good.
I like Britney, but this is awful, looks so amateur. The only thing that I like is that she looks like seventeen again 🙂

OMG, there’s too much glow in every photo! Her hair, make up and styling look horrendous! And why is she posing as if she were 17 again??
This could much be a joke photoshoot, but the fact that it’s meant to be serious is either sad or hilarious. If I were Britney, I would be ashamed of this.
It depends on the editorial agenda I think, it can either be a complete disaster or a pure genius–I somehow had a feeling that it’s the latter (which prob. done in Britney’s expense of not knowing and even clueless on the idea; which makes it rather cruel).

I get the point of the shoot and I kinda like the whole idea of it.
But I don’t like the way its done and not because its not like the typical editorial, that editing looks like its done by half my friends on FB that try to use PS.
Its ew, its amateur looking, and it looks for something for a cheap site.

Her smile and expressions looks So FORCED and fake, she seems to be out of it and not in a good way, I think the shoot was a disaster and honestly only her “inner” emotions came out, which is scary because she looks confused, high or god knows what else is wrong with her.
