Louis Vuitton’s fall 2011 presentation was an extravagant affair complete with elevators, bell boys, french maids and even supermodels on the runway. Updating ’40s silhouettes, creative director Marc Jacobs sent out a parade of characters which seemed to have an underlying fetish theme complete with leather, handcuffs, pantless outfits and masks placed on chauffeur hats. Highlights included the appearance of supermodels Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Carolyn Murphy, leather pieces worked like lace and lovely sheer numbers. It seemed that for Vuitton’s latest collection, the indulgence of fantasies was more important than ever.
Haha Kate closing the show with cigarette in hand = priceless.
I like the idea of this collection..
There were many beautiful details and fabrics, but it just seems like there was also a lot of unflattering outfits.. especially those oversized, round shoulders/sleeves.
will the waldo arms alienate the younger generation, or will they love it?

a few very great pieces, especially these geometric fish scales skirt but also a bunch of unflattering things, like those wide hip pants. overall, not the strongest LV collection

A schizophrenic one. Some great, fitting, light pieces and some unflattering, heavy ones.
The fur-leather combos are so weird.
The wide-hip pants are ridiculous.
Wow, maybe there’s a reason Kate Moss no longer does runway modeling.
because she’s in her mid thirties… ? just a wild guess on my part
I don’t think age has anything to do with it, she has not taken care of her tool and it shows.

Wow, opening the show with bang!! Great collection ever. I don’t remember last time I fee this good when I see LV collection.

Love the textures (brilliante!) Not loving most of the silhouettes, they read as misshapen bulk—and on model’s bodies for that matter!

Is it just me or was Carolyn Murphy not on that runway? Did notice Amber Valletta though.

Could be just me, but I have seen better, more flattering, images of Kate Moss.

mmm I feel there was too much harsh/synthetic fabrics, it just lacked fluidity or softness, oh and color!
