From the iconic Stan Smith to the crowd-favorite Superstar, adidas Originals is set to release another collection that is expected to leave a mark on the sneaker world. With more than 8 million tons of plastics and waste materials entering the oceans every year, adidas began identifying immediate fixes along with their long-time partner Parley for the Oceans. They together unveil a concept shoe made out of marine waste and recycled filaments.
adidas Originals and Parley Spring 2022 Collection
Each sneaker in this collection is made with 50% plastic waste from the beaches, shorelines, remote islands, and coastal communities, which is in line with adidas’ commitment to helping end plastic waste. Both adidas and Parley take a more efficient approach to minimize waste during production.
This ensures that each sneaker produced brings us one step closer to building a better future for the oceans. This collection also aims to provide more sustainable options for sneaker enthusiasts where every action makes a difference.

Accompanying the launch of the collection is a timeless campaign. Daringly stripped back in execution, the campaign images revel in the grey area in between; demonstrating that style and progress don’t have to be mutually exclusive. A confident expression of adidas’ design language, brought into a fresh new context, the composition draws on the collection’s inherently modern nature.
