Inspired by roses and flowers, Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton looked to the Victorian era for inspiration. Models hit the runway with poofy, almost Gibson Girl inspired coifs and a gothic makeup palette featuring dark red lips. Burton’s garden included roses in black, blush pink and red. At times, there was a bit of armor like a leather trench with a blooming and flared skirt. While at other moments, Burton embraced romance head-on with sheer and lace dresses covered with sparkle and shine. It looks like this Victorian girl has edge and beauty.

Been channeling a modern take on this look for short hair on my blog. The collection was amazing, the hair fabulous, messy and romantic.
