In contrast to his namesake label, Balenciaga creative director Alexander Wang offered up a ladylike outing for the brand’s resort 2016 collection. The house’s codes of structured and couture inspired silhouettes were evident with a lineup of peplum embellished jackets, corset style bodices and lace skirts. Despite the feminine touches, it is evident that the Balenciaga woman has edge. Her swimwear features visible zippers while her dress features a one-sided slit that is on the seductive side. Light pastels and cream colors bring a lightness to the detail-oriented designs.
