For Balmain’s fall-winter 2017 show, Olivier Rousteing gave an Amazonian strength to his Balmain army. The warriors casted included models Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Elsa Hosk and Jourdan Dunn. The French designer focused on leather, suede, fringe and tweed. Form-fitting, bodycon dresses contrast with draped fabrics and loose-fitting shapes. A color palette of black, chocolate brown and tan brought dark vibes to the collections.

Rousteing gave his inspiration for the new season within the show notes. “The women of this diverse Balmain army revel in their freedom to celebrate themselves, their beauty and their power. Their impressive inner strength is manifest in this collection’s many animal patterns, prints and illustrations. Next season’s focus on animal prints also builds upon a long Balmain tradition.”
