‘The eye has to travel’ is the theme of MICHAEL Michael Kors‘ spring-summer 2021 campaign, starring Bella Hadid. The iconic line was uttered by famed Harper’s Bazaar editor Diana Vreeland and serves as inspiration for the New York City captured images. Lensed by Jason Kim, pictures show Bella as well as Mayowa Nicholas and Heejung Park viewing famous Big Apple sites. In one shot, Bella wears a trench coat and studded handbag with a chained strap. Another image shows the trio in striped tops with correspondingĀ SohoĀ bags in different colors. In addition to stills, a short film directed by Matty Peacock features the Kors woman in motion, visiting Empire Diner, Central Park, and the New York Harbor.Ā

“As Diana Vreeland famously said, ‘the eye has to travelāāand during these times when we might not be able to experience new destinations, we have to find other ways to change our eye and imagine different possibilities,” Kors states. “Whether it’s looking back at old photos, flipping through a travel book or visiting places in your city or neighborhood, we all need that momentary escape to decompress and feel inspired.”
