Balenciaga
Launched in 1917, the house of Balenciaga was founded by couturier Cristóbal Balenciaga. The Spanish designer became well-known for his well-tailored suits, cocoon coats and chemise dresses. The couturier is often credited with designing the wardrobe of the 20th century. In October 2015, Balenciaga named Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia as the house’s new artistic director. He brings his own stamp to the label with oversized outerwear and a play on proportion.
