Celine’s Phoebe Philo presented a spring-summer 2016 collection that explored the items of a woman’s wardrobe with a few masculine elements. Beginning with undergarments as day wear, the show opened with a selection of slip dresses featuring sheer lace inserts paired with boyish boots and flats. Outerwear brought a focus on the waist, offering exaggerated proportions and sculpted shoulders. Meanwhile separates also saw menswear influence—check print trousers worn with strappy tanks or utilitarian inspired details. Likewise the show’s beauty look also walked the gender line with models wearing slicked back hair and fire-engine red lipstick.
