Chanel set its spring-summer 2017 haute couture collection at Grand Palais. With a decor featuring 1930s art deco style, models walked on mirrored tiles in Karl Lagerfeld’s sleek designs. The collection opened up with tweed suits in fitted and tailored silhouettes of the early twentieth century, nipped at the waist. As the show progressed, curvy lines are enhanced with faux pearl jewelry, embroidered braids and pleated skirts.

Lagerfeld used luxe fabrics including silk radzimir, duchesse satin, laminated lace, marabou, tulle and jacquard. A color palette of dreamy pastels as well as silvery hues and white made for a dreamy effect. Chanel ambassador Lily-Rose Depp closed the show in a “wedding gown” featuring cascading pale pink organza.
