Chanel-Pre-Fall-2016-Looks

Karl Lagerfeld brought a piece of Paris to Rome, Italy, for Chanel’s pre-fall 2016, Métiers d’Art collection. Less than a month after the tragic Paris terror attacks, the luxury brand transformed the Cinecittà film studios into a black and white vision of a vintage Paris. Show notes referenced French actresses and Italian cinema for the collection’s inspiration.

As with the setting, the color palette embraced a neutral mood with beige, black, white, grey and navy hues. Sixties inspired silhouettes including boxy jackets and mid-length skirts were shown next to palazzo style pants as well as pleated silk. For evening wear, the Chanel woman embraced long and feminine shapes with slip dresses and embellished guipure lace.
