Karl Lagerfeld debuted Chanel’s pre-fall 2017 runway show at the newly renovated Ritz Paris earlier this week. Titled Paris Cosmopolite 2016/2017 Métiers d’Art collection, Lagerfeld introduced a gilded lineup complete with a star-studded cast of models. Cara Delevingne made her return to the runway alongside Lily-Rose Depp, Georgia May Jagger and Lottie Moss.
The new season focuses on a palette of cream, white, glittery gold, navy and black. Silhouettes take inspiration from the early twentieth century with the Chanel jacket updated with floral embroideries and pearls. Coats took on voluminous shapes while dresses feature sparkling embellishments. For evening wear, tulle skirts, ostrich feathers and velvet bows bring a party-like atmosphere to the runway.
