People are reuniting in various parts of the world now that many of the restrictions imposed by nations worldwide have been lifted. The nightlife is about to resurge after a long hiatus, much to the delight of many regulars of this type of leisure activity. This raises another question: how should one dress for a night out in 2021?
The problem appears to be minor compared to everything we’ve been through in the last 20 months. But, in any case, it’s a question that many people ask themselves. In particular, women. Naturally, any woman who enjoys going out on the weekends has a large selection of Dresses to choose from. But, even in the best of circumstances, are they still fashionable after two years in the closet?
When it comes to cocktail and party dresses, the main question is: which colors are the most popular right now? It’s difficult to say because evening gowns are the most mercurial and moody of the entire industry, and popular taste can shift faster than anyone can imagine. In any case, based on the most recent collections, we’ve identified five colors that will undoubtedly be prominent in the months ahead.
Black
Regardless of current trends, a black dress should always be present in any wardrobe, and this dates back to the 1920s. The reason is straightforward: it represents a haven, a life jacket, and the answer to all doubts, problems, and dilemmas. Wear black, and no one will be able to criticize you: it’s as simple as that. Maybe it’s a sign of a lack of imagination or bravery, but even if it were, no one would dare to tell you.
Yellow
In this case, it’s a whole different story. Wearing yellow takes a lot of guts. Or, at least, that’s what many people thought a few years ago. Then a group of avant-garde celebrities (one in particular: Lady Gaga) began to wear yellow to many of America’s most prestigious gala evenings, and everything was turned upside down. Yellow is still a difficult color to wear today, and not everyone can pull it off, but it isn’t as overlooked as it once was. That’s a step forward.
Leopard Print
Okay, this one isn’t a color, but it may as well be. Yes, we’re talking about 2021’s ultimate provocation: leopard prints. A relic of the twentieth century plucked from the inexhaustible well of kitsch. Leopard-print dresses were a symbol of sexiness in the 1980s and 1990s, believe it or not. Today, convincing people that such a trend can be revived may take some effort, but that is exactly what is happening now.
Emerald Green
If there were an award for the fanciest color of the year, this gleaming, intense shade of green would be the winner in 2021. It goes with long and short dresses and is ideal for any occasion. Along with black, this is another “sure bet.”
Dark Blue
A suitable substitute for black or dark grey. Despite being confined to a sort of secondary role and possibly doomed to be forever a second choice. Only one word of caution: make sure you pair it with the appropriate footwear.
