For Alexander McQueen’s fall-winter 2018 collection, artistic director Sarah Burton began the show with a tailored jacket and flared pants. The designer juxtaposed hard and soft elements with fitted bustiers as well as flared skirts. For prints, the McQueen woman wore stripes in addition to patterns inspired by beetles and butterflies. A color palette of black, red, green and ivory made a strong bold statement. Puffer jackets and embellished capes served as outerwear pieces for the season. Touches of fringe, ruffles, lace and beading added dimension to an already strong collection.
