Calvin Klein chief creative officer Raf Simons looks to movies for inspiration with the brand’s spring-summer 2019 runway show. The Belgian designer cites ‘The Graduate’ and ‘Jaws’ as having influence. Starting the show, Simons pairs boxy jackets over mini-skirts and shirts adorned with the ‘Jaws’ shark and the CK logo. Elsewhere, ladylike dresses in psychedelic prints feature deconstructed sashes and bows. Ankle boots and pumps as well as textured bags finish the looks.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the dress codes of different generations – of mothers and daughters, fathers and sons; how the changes between different generations of families reflect the changes of American society. I love the movie ‘The Graduate’ and the different family dynamics at play. Like the film, this collection explores taboos and temptations, shifts in culture and community, but ultimately, the overarching theme is love,” says Raf Simons.
