Gucci kicked off Milan Fashion Week with an eerie show which took place in an operating room setting. Complete with LED lights and plastic chairs like one would see in a waiting room, Alessandro Michele embraced a surreal approach for the fall-winter 2018 season. The Italian designer kept with his maximalist aesthetic, sending models down the runway with unusual accessories. From models carrying their own heads, miniature dragons or snakes, the Gucci woman definitely walks to the beat of her own drum. Michele took inspiration from across the globe with nods to the Middle East, Japan, Medieval Europe and the United State. Through it all, draped gowns and embellished jackets made for winning pieces.
