Marc Jacobs takes an avant-garde approach to proportions in his spring 2025 collection, redefining classic silhouettes with exaggerated shapes and unexpected structure. The collection leans into oversized knits, inflated outerwear, and sculptural dresses that push the boundaries of traditional tailoring.
Sweaters morph into voluminous forms, cinched at the waist or curving outward in exaggerated peplums. Wide-leg trousers pool at the floor, creating a dramatic contrast against sharply belted tops.
Balloon-like skirts and puffed-out coats give the impression of movement even while standing still. Jacobs’ signature playful sensibility is clear in the exaggerated, almost surreal footwear. There are clunky platform boots and rounded pumps that further distort the proportions.
The color palette strikes a balance between soft pastels and deep, grounding neutrals. Delicate lilacs, blush pinks, and warm beige tones sit alongside deep burgundy and charcoal gray. A striking red dress, complete with sculpted bows and voluminous layers, adds a theatrical touch to the lineup.
