Inspired by a softer aesthetic, Tom Ford brings serious elegance for his fall-winter 2019 collection presented during New York Fashion. The American designer focuses on layering with relaxed blouses over turtlenecks and velvet blazers with wide-leg pants. Fur pieces in the form of long coats and fedoras bring a warm touch to the season. Ford juxtaposes softness and hardness with materials of chiffon, silk jersey, crepe de chine and velvet. A varied color palette includes pale blue, pastel pink, toffee brown, navy and plum purple.

About the season’s silhouette, Ford states, “While last season was decidedly feminine, this season is more about tailoring and a certain boyishness. In terms of mood there is a languid sensuality and romance to this collection but also a certain peacock quality to the cut and colors of the pants, and the sharpness of the tailoring.”
