Zimmermann’s fall-winter 2025 collection brings the haunting beauty of Picnic at Hanging Rock to the spotlight. Creative director Nicky Zimmermann was inspired by the film’s 50th anniversary. The collection blends Victorian influences, ethereal romance, and modern structure.
Flowing lace, billowing sleeves, and layered fabrics create a sense of nostalgia. Meanwhile, tailored coats and leather accents add a contemporary edge. The color palette ranges from delicate peaches and creams to deep moss greens and midnight blues, mirroring the film’s shift from innocence to eerie mystery.
Textured details, such as crocheted lace, pinstripes, and wool suiting, nod to school uniforms and vintage riding wear. The collection also features hand-drawn Valentine’s prints and Mt. Macedon map motifs hidden within sheer fabrics.
Accessories play a key role, with fractured stone jewelry and almond-shaped suede bags grounding the Zimmermann aesthetic. Knee-high boots, statement coats, and dramatic capes complete the transformation. The mood deepens with voluminous shearling coats and shimmering velvet.
