    • Have to say (if you're serious: you have the balls to say it, kudos.)

I totally agree with this. If I wanted to see a fleshy, average-looking woman, I'd go to the mall and watch commoners waddle around.

Fine if Tush wants to go this way, but I'll stop reading.

      • Crystal Renn may more accurately reflect the "average" woman in terms of size but she is by no means a woman of average beauty nor a model of average ability. In fact, I would say her work is better than some of what has been presented in Tush before.

      • i have to agree with lolque here. please, when did size become everything? isn't modeling about displaying the clothes well and telling a story? honestly, i find her editorial much more interesting than some of the other ones.

    • Fashionography, what ever made you reach such a low point? Were you ever loved as a child? What gave you such a twisted viewpoint? Your vain, unrealistic outlook on the world is truly nothing to display so proudly. Crystal is most likely more comfortable and confident in her skin than you will ever, ever be.

  1. waitt…. fashionography….. are you joking? i can't tell because i can't imagine anyone would ever say that in a serious manner so tactlessly? confusion.

  7. ^Geez, some people….
I'm pretty sure Crystal does not give a **** about what you think about her size. Why don't you read her book, Hungry, and then we'll see what you think then. Jerk.

    Work it Crystal!

    • TOTALLY AGREE!!! Her editorial is way more interesting than some other lifeless looking teenagers with designer clothes on. The fashion industry needs a new twist! Love this ed <3 GO TEAM CRYSTAL <3

  10. Crystal's a beauty, and it's refreshing to see a fuller model in a fashion mag. She's workin' like her rent is due.

      • I’d say she looks much better without retouching than you would with plenty of retouching. For years her figure was celebrated until twiggy changed the view of fashion and now that figure is coming back to the catwalks. It proves that clothes can look good on every shape or size if you wear it right!!! I am a plus size model about her size and I have never gotten any grief for it. Fine if you prefer thinner girls but theres no need to be so nasty

    • I agree, I want plus size models to be taken seriously and I feel like making her size the most important thing merely detracts from taking this seriously. Additionally her face looks really good and she has a beautiful profile. I prefer thin girls though, not like Abbey-Lee but more Lara Stone.

    • I love Crystal and she is an amazing model, but I also don't like it when magazines play off a "plus model's" size. It annoys me because I feel like they are saying, "Hey look, we use plus size models!" it's awesome that they do, but when they point it out it just comes off as a publicity thing and not something normal.

  19. Of all the things we see in her mouth, the only thing that seems like a good idea (given her heft) is the cigarette.

    Harsh but true.

    • wait because you want her to die? you are a jackass some people actually are just naturally built bigger.

        • She's not fat! Besides, some people are born with conditions or environmental issues that make losing weight a very difficult thing. Hereditary can play a large part. This is not about Crystal, as she is not big enough to even warrant that conversation. I was average size before I went through a lot of health problems. When I took all the medication required, I gained 60 lbs. in one summer, and it was beyond my control. Since then, I've tried to get it off, but the medicine and my condition make it very hard to lose weight. I'm still working on it, but I would LOVE to be as small as Crystal. And some people are built bigger. Go talk to a science teacher.

  25. She's awesome! Although I wish that every editorial I've seen her in isn't about her size. She can be a good model without needing to point that out each and every time you know?

  27. Everything about this editorial is totally rocking… except… the dumb I'm-about-to-drool look on her face in half the photos : And the bodysuit in the third pic that's painfully reminding me of Ed Hardy. Love the poses and the lollypop one. sexy!

  33. I'm a little confused by all of the comments on here calling this model "hefty" or "doughy" etc. Yes, she's heavier than the average model, but that doesn't make her fat. She's much closer to the average-sized woman than to being really fat. It's strange how removed from reality the fashion industry and its standards of what's "normal" often get.

also, I like Crystal fine, but I wish she weren't the only "plus-sized" model ever shown in editorials. And I also wish she would sometimes be featured in editorials that aren't about weight. So maybe it would seem like editors actually take her seriously as a model in her own right, and not just as a dress size…

  42. I think she’s a total babe, and I think some of these comments above are extremely counter productive to widening the scope of beauty when it comes to the fashion industry. I’m in agreement with the few people here who wish Renn wasn’t primarily used in editorials where her size is the focal point. It’s like she’s only brought out to be some kind of show pony so magazines can be proud of the fact that they’ve featured a plus size model. I mean even the title is kind of crappy. SIZE MATTERS!!! Except apparently it only matters here because she’s fuller figured than most models they usually feature.

  45. Crystal Renn drives the discussion around body image, not FASHIONOGRAPHY, who probably won't bring out the best in the models he's trying to photograph with such dominating attitudes about what makes a woman beautiful. The great photographers have learned to look beyond his/her personal vision of beauty into the larger culture. Irving Penn, for example. Reading FASHIONOGRAPHY's website on Saturday, his words about individuality and free thinking indicated a broader mindset than he expressed last night I was writing about Renn in June Glamour when I saw his comment last night and pick up the story today.http://bit.ly/9m3rSp

  54. Gluttony? Someone used the term Gluttony for a girl who MIGHT be SLIGHTLY larger than the runway darlings? No. She is not even overweight! This is ridiculous. Her body is beyond perfect, and not just because it's more normal than the rest of the fashion industry. She's a beautiful girl without being politically correct, and being bigger than the models you idolize is NOT gluttony. It's called being intelligent and healthy. Gluttony only works if someone eats so much that it's obsessive and unhealthy. I can guarantee you that Crystal does not do that, or she'd be much bigger. Please don't use the term Gluttony so lightly. It's offensive, and Renn is a beautiful girl who should not be slandered in that way.

All that said, I'm not really crazy about the editorial…lol. But that has nothing to do with the model or her weight. In fact, I couldn't really tell if she was a bit fuller than most by the pictures, it was mainly the comments.
