After presenting a resort collectioncalled the ‘Pilot Episode’, newly named Emilio Pucci creative director Massimo Giorgetti presented his vision for the spring-summer 2016 season—‘Episode One’. Full of loose and forgiving shapes decorated with sequins, pleating and oceanic scenes, it is certainly a complete 180 degree turn from his predecessor Peter Dundas.
Giorgietti explored lacework, slouchy trench coats and his own take on the slip dress. While some looks had a slightly retro vibe, the majority of spring was modern thanks to eye-popping textile work. Although there wasn’t much of the house’s signature print work, Giorgetti paid homage to the founder with ‘Emilio’ scrawled in cursive on footwear, clothing and handbags.
