Erdem Moralioglu’s fall-winter 2016 show channeled the spirit of Old Hollywood glamour with the designer’s runway presentation held at London Fashion Week. Drop waist silhouettes and slinky gowns leaned the collection towards the 1930s but the hour-glass shapes of the 1940s were also present. Embellishments and texture were key–lace, velvet, metallic fringe, ruffles and luxe embroideries covered many of the looks. The designer also played with sheer numbers embellished with floral motifs and dots. And when the Erdem woman wants a break from dresses or skirts, there are tailored jackets and cropped trousers in tweed fabrics.
