Late last year, the news surfaced that Frida Giannini would be leaving Gucci. While a replacement has yet to be named, the rumor mill has been turning with everybody from Riccardo Tisci to Hedi Slimane and most recently, Gucci head accessories designer Alessandro Michele. According to WWD, Frida will not be taking her final bow at the fall-winter 2015 show set to debut in the next two months.
The news site writes that going for someone inside the Gucci brand could be the best move because, “It’s a very scientific machine, where marketing has its say. It’s creative only up to a certain point. Calling in a designer from outside can bring an added touch of allure, but a designer from the inside may work better in the long run.”
