Actress Hailee Steinfeld graces the May 2015 cover from FLARE Magazine, looking chic in an Alexander Wang dress and Apple Watch Sport. The ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ star opens up about a number of things in her interview including losing out on high-profile roles, singing live in the film and missing out on being a teenager.
ON HOW SHE FELT ABOUT LOSING HIGH-PROFILE GIGS:
“Even though there are roles that you and I both know I didn’t get, the women that did get them have paved the way. Just because I didn’t get it, the person who did has created a standard that we have to live up to, which is amazing.”
ON SINGING LIVE IN PITCH PERFECT 2:
“I realized not only could I not match myself lip-synching, it was just easier to go live. Singing is something I’ve always loved to do, and I’d never considered taking it further than the shower.”
ON MISSING OUT ON NORMAL TEEN LIFE:
“It is definitely hard, being on the other side of the world, knowing that you’re missing out. [On my 18th birthday] I was texting my friends: ‘Guys, I’m 18!’ The next day I woke up to all these messages saying happy birthday, and by that time, I was kind of over it.”
